Sophia Choudry is a British singer, host and actress Sophie Choudry was born on 8th February 1982 in Manchester, England, United Kingdom. She is a British-born Indian Film Actress, Singer, Video Jockey, Songwriter, Television Presenter & Television Actress. She is well-known for her work in Bollywood as well as Tamil & Telugu cinema.
She has been active primarily in Hindi language films and is also a former MTV India VJ and occasional model, and television presenter. She began her career on Zee Tv UK in the late 1990s presenting Zee Top 10, a chart show also based in the UK/ Europe which became the number 1 show on the channel for several years before she launched her own career in Music.
Her father was a huge admirer of Sophia Loren and that is the reason why he named his daughter Sophie. She attended the London School of Economics and graduated in European Politics and French. Choudry started her career by becoming a VJ for Zee UK. She learned Kathak and is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer.
Her dream was to make it big in singing. She was launched by Bidoo at the age of 12. She started her singing career as a pop singer with her band 'Sansara'. The most popular track of this album was Yeh Dil Sun Raha Hain. After separating from the band she started solo singing. She then became MTV VJ in 2002. Dr. Love has been her most successful album.
In addition to Video Jockey and singing, she has also acted in Hindi and Telugu films. Though she has mostly appeared in movies with minor roles or item numbers, she still was noticed and her glamorous roles gained her huge fame. She made her acting debut in 2001, with the comedy-drama film Shaadi No.1. After which she has appeared in several films like Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Speed, Kidnap and Daddy Cool just to name a few.
Sophie has also participated as a contestant in dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa in 2007.
